The ideal Faith on View program, in concert with a local church, constitutes a mixture of several elements from our programming. We understand that the individual circumstances found in various churches may allow for Faith on View's complete programming. Faith on View has standardized full week, half week and weekend programs designed for the local church. Of course, these programs may be customized to the local church or a church may choose from any of the individual programs.

"The LORD has called by name Bezaleel, the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the Tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of God". Bezaleel is a rarely discussed biblical figure. Yet, he holds an important role in the Bible. He is the artist called by God to oversee the construction of the Tabernacle. Further, he is the first person who the Bible says was filled with the spirit of God. Bezaleel was greatly honored by God to be chosen to oversee the construction of the Tabernacle and, in turn, used the gifts which God gave him to honor God.

Today's artists and craftsmen, who use their gifts for the glory of God, are the figurative descendants of Bezaleel and as such can be considered as the Sons of Bezaleel. Faith on View seeks to connect the Sons of Bezaleel with the Church at large. To be a Faith on View Son of Bezaleel an artist must be a Born Again Christian in complete agreement with our Doctrinal Statement who exhibits demonstrable artistic talent.

Artists who wish more information about becoming associated with Faith on View please feel free to contact us. We seek to have a national or even international network of artists associated with Faith on View who are seeking to glorify God.

Discussion list- One of the primary purposes of Faith on View is to act as a support structure for Christian artists, who often feel isolated. In order to promote a sense of connection among Christian artists, creatives and those interested in the arts, Faith on View has an e-mail discussion list. This list is intended to be a safe haven community where those dedicated to Christ can discuss their art, their lives, their faith or anything else which seems pertinent.

Faith on View provides lectures & Bible studies for churches, schools, home school groups, universities and other organizations on Christianity and the visual arts. These lectures focus on the purpose and role of Christian art and the goals of Christian artists, specifically as they are manifested in the work of Faith on View artists. Ideally, Faith on View lectures should be in conjunction with an exhibition though we appreciate that this is not always possible. Within the church setting Faith on View lectures function well as lessons for Wednesday nights, Sunday nights, Adult Sunday School or special services.

The Fundamentals of Painting- The Fundamentals of Painting exhibition and lecture series takes the work of several Faith on View artists and examines the basic conceptual framework and motivation of their art and how it relates to their faith. The lecture is designed both to give the lay person an appreciation for the work and concepts of Christian artists and provide other artists and art professionals insight into what motivates their contemporaries. The lecture serves as an excellent introduction into today's world of contemporary Christian art. If space limitations do not allow for an exhibition to be mounted concurrent with the lecture the slide lecture serves well on its own.

Visual Arts & The Church- This lecture/ Bible study begins with a discussion of Faith on View's mission and then progresses to a discussion of why Christians should be concerned about the visual arts. The lecture also examines what scripture has to say about the visual arts, the relationship between art and culture and finally, the reasons for the church's abdication of the arts is briefly discussed as is the art world as a largely untapped mission field.

The Heart of The Artist: A Calling from God- This Bible Study is an in-depth look at Exodus 31: 1-11. The study examines both the calling and gifting of  Bezaleel and Aholiab the head artists in charge of constructing the tabernacle. There is a great deal here to be learned about God's designs for artists.

Art, God and the Bible- Art, God and the Bible is a Bible study which is designed specifically as an evangelistic tool to reach into art institutions and university art programs. The study examines the Biblical and historical basis for art, the general revelation arguments for art, the place of art within our culture and the godly ideal for art. While this study is designed to function within the secular institute it can also be well adapted for use within both the church and the Christian institute. (This program is currently under development)

Visual Arts are by definition- visual. The best way to gain an appreciation for art is by experiencing it in person. Unfortunately, many people are unfamiliar or uncomfortable with the gallery experience. For this reason Faith on View seeks to introduce original art exhibitions to local churches, para-church organizations, colleges and universities as well as gallery and museum type spaces.

The Fundamentals of Painting- See above.

Artist Solo Exhibits- Several of Faith on View's artists are available to show their work in the form of a solo exhibition. This is an excellent way for churches, schools and universities to gain an appreciation for the quality work being produced by Christian artists. The types of exhibitions can be extremely varied from portraiture to abstraction, from drawing and printmaking to painting and sculpture.

Faithworks Exhibits- These exhibits are developed as an outreach- a way to open the dialog between Christians and those interested in issues of faith and spirituality. The first such show was Pratt: Faithworks which was held in the Pratt Chapel and Stueben Galleries on the Pratt campus. Pratt Institute, located in Brooklyn, New York, is one of the premier art colleges in the nation and is home to the nation's largest graduate fine arts program. The 2004 exhibit was a success both in encouraging Christian artists and opening dialog with others. Click here for pictures of the 2004 exhibit.

Aletheia Fine Art- There is a dreadful lack of commercial space that is interested in displaying and marketing work which is Christian, be it overt or not. In order for the work of Christian artists to enter the critical dialog, which in turn leads to the work being a tool  for evangelism, the work must be shown in gallery settings. Upon God's provision Faith on View seeks to open Aletheia Fine Art a gallery space dedicated to showing artwork consistent with and supportive of a Christian worldview. The first stage of Aletheia will be a facility in the urban center of Sacramento, California. It is our vision to have facilities in multiple urban centers including New York City. Aletheia will also be a part of our educational programming with art classes held in the facility.

Art Classes- Faith on View is offering classes at the Studio of Rondall Reynoso in Sacramento. These classes are open to the public and are free of charge. These classes are designed to meet the individualized needs of the students. Click here for more information.

Art Camps- Faith on View's camps are designed to be held in the facilities of local churches. There are two different types of art camps: a week long camp and a weekend (Friday/ Saturday) camp. The week long camp is best suited for summer time when children and teens have an abundance of time or as an after school camp while the weekend camp is excellent for during the school year. These camps are designed to help foster an appreciation of art and be instructional in the skills necessary in producing art. Further, the camps are designed to be both evangelistic and help develop a biblical view of the arts. In addition to youth and teen camps it is desirable to also hold adult camps/ classes.

Artis Veritas Art Curriculum- There is currently a great need for quality Christian art programs for both home schoolers and Christian schools. The Faith on View Art Curriculum will be a versatile three-tiered spiral approach which will provide a thorough education in art technique, appreciation and history for grades K-12. (This program is currently under development)

A God Who Creates- This planned gospel tract will have a high quality, visually strong design to engage those in the visual arts. (There is currently no estimated release date)

Faith on View seeks to follow the Godly example of George Müller by trusting the providence and sovereignty of God to meet the needs of this ministry. All programs are provided free of charge. Be it a lecture, exhibition or art camp our ministry is of service to God and we rely on his provision. Certainly, donations and offering are deeply appreciated but seek to operate by faith not ledger.

The financial and material needs for this sort of ministry are great so we are always thankful for both monthly commitments and one time donations; however, we pledge to avoid soliciting God's people. Instead, we take our requests to God alone and trust that he will provide for His work.
